Horror Story
My son Bruce came home late from school one day at 9:00 pm. He had told me he would be coming home straight from school and he would call me as he was planning to stay at his friend Jim’s house that night. My many attempts to reach him via phone were futile as he would not answer. When he did get home, I was furious. I asked him to explain where he had been while he ignored me while trudging up the stairs to his room. His head did a 180 and looked at me and he spoke to me as he climbed the stairs: “You will soon learn not to question my life” in a very deep voice. I quickly grabbed my coat and rushed out the door to find my ex-wife at work. When I arrived at her office on the far side of town I was shocked to find that nobody was there but there was blood covering the walls of her cubicle and that the only item untouched was the photograph of her and Bruce together when he was five. I decided to go to my friend Shane’s house to ask him to help me figure out what had happened to my wife and what was going on with my son, but when I arrived the door had been broken down and as I searched the house I discovered that the master bedroom was covered in blood and the only item untouched was a photo album and when I opened it all photos had been removed except for one. That photo was of my wedding with Bruce in the front row and Shane as my best man. I decided to return home and confront my son but when I entered the residence I was shocked to find Shane, my ex-wife and my son eating dinner. I slowly crept into the kitchen but when I did, I found them eating my wife’s colleagues. I quick ran to stop them but when I reached out to grab my wife, I woke up.
This is my Halloween horror story that I wrote. I think it has some horror in it because it is regular everyday life with horrific twists.
My Hunting Trip
My last hunting trip was three weeks ago and it was awesome. Hunting itself is awesome, and it is even better when you have success. We did not get a deer but it was still a great experience. Everybody should get the chance to hunt because it is a great experience.
We packed all of our hunting and camping gear on Friday and drove north and west of town to a spot that we have hunted for years. It is also the same spot which I shot my Mule deer last year. It was a small buck, only 2x3 with virtually no mass on the antlers. It did taste good though. As I was saying, we headed up and found a good spot to set up our Walltent which is 14x16 with 4ft walls. after we set up the stove, table, and our three cots, we headed out for an evening hunt.
We drove up the mountain, all the while glassing cutblocks with our binoculars and there was no sign of any deer although there were plenty of deer tracks in the mud on the gravel road. But at the top of the mountain there was a nice three point mule deer buck. I decided that I would pass him up in the hopes of seeing a larger buck, preferably a four point. We did, however see over 15 blue grouse and ruffed grouse. We returned to camp at dark and ate smokies with some canned fruit. Then, we stoked the furnace with dry fir firewood, went to bed and got a good rest.
We got up early and decided to sit in a cutblock for the morning but there was no action. So we went to camp, ate a breakfast of pancakes and took a nap. Then we went across the highway where we encountered the Biagionis out deer hunting, so we chatted and went down the mountain and saw three doe whitetail deer. We put a stalk on them in a cutblock and could see glimpses of them as they silently glided through the trees at the edge of the cutblock. After confirming that all three were in fact female, I unloaded my 7mm-08 and we headed back to the truck and had some granola bars. Then we decided to head back to camp to have a nap to recharge our batteries. We broke camp and went home that night.
It was a great and also very exciting hunting trip. But you must remember that the first rule of hunting is to conserve and follow the law. That is very important. But if you can do that, you will have a great time out hunting.
